Our favourite guest writer is back again! This time, Thomas has kindly reviewed the Audi A6 E-tron Avant (I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous). It's a short and snappy read, so check out what Thomas has to say!
Built on VW Group’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) with 800‑volt architecture and available with an 83-kWh or a 100-kWh battery. Charging capacity is up to 270 kW, enabling roughly 200 miles (320 km) in just 10 minutes of DC fast charging. Performance on this test car comes from a 280-kW motor and a 100-kWh battery. Audi claims 437 miles on a full charge and acceleration of 0‑62 mph in 5.4 seconds. Also available is the Quattro AWD option with 340 kW of power and 456 bhp. The Quattro accelerates from 0‑62 mph in 4.5 seconds and offers a WLTP range of around 417 miles. The Avant’s drag coefficient is an impressively low 0.24, thanks to aerodynamic detailing such as air-curtain vents and smooth underfloor panels.

Exterior Design and Practicality
My test car is finished in Plasma Blue metallic paint, and the exterior features an enclosed grille flanked by split matrix LED headlights. The rear features a full-width OLED light strip with customisable animations. Boot space is generous with this Avant model - over 500 litres. It is worth mentioning that it is short compared to the BMW i5 Touring and the VW ID.7 estate.
Technology and Interior
The interior of this new A6 is technology-focused. A minimalist curved “digital stage” houses an 11.9″ OLED driver display and a 14.5″ central infotainment touchscreen running Android Automotive OS, plus an optional 10.9″ passenger screen with privacy mode. The voice assistant incorporates ChatGPT support via Microsoft Azure for natural language queries and vehicle commands.
This car is fitted with premium features including a Bang & Olufsen 20-speaker audio system, four-zone climate control, an air quality package, and an optional switchable smart panoramic glass roof. Overall interior quality is typical Audi fare, although not quite as plush as you might expect from an £87,000 Audi.
Rear legroom is adequate; however, the floor feels raised and makes for a slightly uncomfortable seating position.

Out on the Road
The A6 offers strong regenerative braking (up to 220 kW recuperation) and supports one-pedal driving. Road and wind noise is minimal at speed, and the suspension does a good job of isolating the passengers from the road. This car has the standard spring setup, although adaptive air suspension is available.
Pricing and Verdict
Priced from just over £65,000 for a base model with the smaller battery, this test car is optioned to just over £87,000.
The Audi A6 E-tron Avant presents a compelling blend of luxury, performance, and practicality. Excellent range and rapid charging speeds, extensive cutting-edge tech, and futuristic comfort features. A stylish, aerodynamic design with real estate flexibility and an upscale interior.
The A6 E-tron Avant is one of the most advanced electric estates entering the executive segment in 2025, especially suited to those who want EV efficiency without sacrificing load-lugging space. I might recommend that you test drive the BMW i5 Touring before proceeding with the Audi.
